This Wimberleyite sends you greetings and thanks for your poignant poem. I shall read and reread it many times both today and other days. It’s permanently copied to my journal.
A beautiful poem that reflects the current state of your country. I hope that you can all stay safe and I know many of us here in Canada wish the good people of the U.S. that they can one day return to the America we Canadians once knew.Wishing you all peace and safety during this turbulent time. L’etoile du Nord! As if in a time warp, I'm immediately thrown back to elementary school and the Mn state flag flying under the Stars and Stripes which contained the phrase. French trappers and native peoples could be found between the Mississippi head waters and Lake Gitche Gumee (Superior) I grew up near Crow Wing, a trading post in central MN. Many French words are names of towns and lakes all up and down the state.
Your poem is beautiful and so needed in this awful time. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Merci bien. Beautiful poem. Ray of sun in the icy waters.
We miss you.
Such a sad situation. I hope the Star of the North will soon shine more brilliantly than ever before. The people of Minnesota are inspirational.
Thank you so much for this! This poem is beautiful and perfect at this time!
Wow, this line, “When the compass/ Of our country seems broken”
Just beautiful. It stopped me in my tracks.
This lightened the load today. Thank you
we are all connected, endearing.
