I’ve never understood why people remained Catholic and for sure, many don’t. There is such a history of corruption.

As we look backward in life, we might be struck by how as kids, we accepted pronouncements from Authority, occasionally, straining against it. But as we become adults dogmatic statements, especially because of grammatical error, or some other tiny bit of grit… it just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t match our own efforts to do what we can, to make sense of life.

If it bothers us, imperfect as we are, what must God think?
