Dear friends, I do hope this new year is treating you well and that you and your family are healthy and having moments of happiness. First, thank you for all your support over the last few months. I will be forever grateful and I will remain touched deeply by your kindness. As you know I stepped back from the race for Lt. Governor of Texas at the beginning of December because I had committed to not standing in the way of diversity in this race. I have not stepped away of fighting for our democracy and equality and justice for every person in America.
I'm so sad you're not running because I was so excited to back you! I watched you on MSNBC with Nicole Wallace this last summer and the minute you said you were running, I went and donated, even though I'm not even remotely in Texas! I know you could have turned the "crazy" around in Texas. Thank you for still fighting the fight when things truly feel so bleak! God bless you!!!!
Hi Matt I am not in Texas, but want to thank you for being transparent and using the money to help others in need!! I will keep following you. Be well!
Thanks for the update. As I trusted your judgement enough to vote for you, and donate, you are in the best place to redistribute funds. The examples you gave were fine with me. I hope you will begin to consider running to replace Ted Cruz as our Junior Senator.
What a great letter! And as someone who firmly believes education is a pivot point for a better tomorrow - advocating for support for nonprofit, accredited WGU Texas and their Finish to Go Further Scholarships supporting the nearly 4 million Texans who have accrued some college credit, but never a degree. https://www.wgu.edu/advancement/about-wgu-advancement.html
Hi Matthew, how about donating to Wimberley Indivisible Group? Please get in touch with me and I will share the secure act blue info for a contribution. They work hard recruiting local citizens to run for local offices. They help them in their campaigns and support the efforts to run. Thanks for the consideration.
Hi Matt -- I am writing to encourage you to make a donation to the Williamson County Democratic Party. We have made inroads in recent years, although recent gerrymandering is creating new challenges. We have a wonderful chair, Kim Gilby, and we are moving forward. Best always, Jennifer Mattingly
I am sure that Dan , my real name is too Jewish sounding to get elected in Texas, Patrick. is relieved. This former Republican looked forward to you integrity and character refreshing the race.
Thank you for ALL you do and have done for our nation and to make our world a better place. You inspire by your actions, your grace, and your humility. You are a good man and I'm proud to have named my son, Matthew. Having known of your work since the infamous blow up with Rove (LOVE that you held your integrity) and then watched you since your earliest days on This Week, I can't say that it didn't influence my choice in names. Onward, indeed. Get back to MSNBC, LOVE you with Nicolle!
I am sorry you are not running. I watched you on MSNBC and identified with your sentiments and admired how well you expressed them. On the other hand, I am disappointed you do not consider donating to other Democrats hoping to unseat Republicans in Texas. If you think Patrick is a terrible lt. governor, and I agree with you, why not donate to the Democrat who hopes to unseat him? That was the intention of the funds in the first place! Or why not donate to Beto in his fight to get rid of Abbott? The money was sent to help the Democratic Party; I don't understand why you stray from that goal.
You should not have solicited and taken our money if you were going to quit the race as you did. And now bragging about donating our money to charity. Disgraceful.
Hi, I am glad to have you on our side, the side of democracy. Would you consider Josh Shapiro in PA to donate some money to his campaign? I am sure you know of him, he has appeared on Nicole Wallace’s program, I admire and support him as well. Thank you.

Thank you Matthew for your voice and integrity. We as a country and State need both.
